The Count Down is ON!

I can't believe that in a few days my little Miss Mia will be 1!! WE MADE IT! I am busy busy planning her polka dot party, but I wanted to post an invitation to all of you to leave a comment if you have followed her story.

Some day I will print all of your comments and include them in her baby book- or at least a blurb. I want her to know all of the wonderful people that cared and prayed for her. Her introduction into this world was, well, a rough one. It would have been way more difficult without all of you. I promise this post won't be another "thank you" post, but knowing so many people cared about her really encouraged us! I have met people that knew of Mia without knowing who I am. "Mia's mom" has been my identity this past year- and I'll take it! I am so proud to be her mommy and couldn't love her more if I tried.

Don't be shy! Even if you have never left a comment before- feel free to now. One day when she is looking through all of her baby pictures from her first year, (the sad ones) she will also be reading about how so many loved and supported her. She truly is our little miracle and it has been our pleasure to share her story.

Check back in a few days for birthday photos and to see her "surprise."

Baby Mia,
I grew up with your mommy and was so glad to reconnect with her. Soon after I found the blog your mommy found out about your heart. I have loved you and followed your story since. You are beautiful and it was a blessing to get to be a part of you life - even in a small way. Yay for progress and someday I'll meet you in person I know it!

Mia... we started reading about your journey ever since you were 1 month old. Look how far you've come!!! How many one year olds can say they lived in the hospital, received a heart transplant and got rid of her NG tube, ALL by her first birthday??? You are AMAZING!! We think of you often. We pray for you more. Your strength is inspiring to us. Someday, I hope that we'll be able to meet you.

Happy Birthday Mia!!!

Dear Mia,

I have been reading about you since you were born! I have a little boy with a feeding tube (he had an NG tube for a while and then he got a G-tube) so I was really interested in your mommy's fight to get rid of that nasty tube (my baby didn't like it either!) and it looks like she has won; good job BOTH of you! I'm so glad you are doing so well and getting ready to celebrate your birthday. Happy birthday, baby!

Marie, I am so extremely happy for your family to be celebrating this awesome day with your little sweetheart. I found your blog a little over a year ago when I was looking through blogs of other Wasatch High friends. It was around the time you had your 20 weeks ultrasound. My heart broke for you and your husband and I checked very often to read the new information. I was also pregnant at the same time, due just a couple of weeks after you and I was amazed at the amazing strength and attitude you had throughout the whole process. I told everybody I knew and had all my neighborhood checking your blog and keeping up to date on your story. You have been such an inspiration to so many Mommies. I hope Mia knows what an amazing Mommy she has and wish you all the best in the future. Happy 1st Birthday Mia! :)

Mia, Mimi, John, Ellie, And Jensen. You know how much I love all of you and have watched in awe as the five of you have endured something so profound. I have tried to help in the small ways I could but I know it was my prayers added to the thousands of others, that made the difference for Mia. I look forward to you, Mia, playing in the backyard with my little Eve. Just please, no playing "Hair Salon!"

Happy 1st Birthday Mia! Way to go girly! We have loved you and prayed for you even before you were born. One day we'll meet you (cross your fingers) and you can meet your future boyfriend Beckham!

Stay healthy and away from those nasty germs, and forgive your parents for being super paranoid and using excessive amounts of sanitizer. It's all worth!

I saw your blog from Kim Scadlock's - I knew her when I was younger and have followed you as another heart mommy. My little one is nearly the same age and looks very similar, so Mia has always tugged at my heart a little. I have worried about her and I am so happy that her little fighting spirit is doing so well!

Oh Miss Mia,
I am sooooo excited that you are turning 1!!!Your Mama and I taught dance together when you were in her belly and she was the strong one for me when I kept crying when she found out that you were going to have a "bit of a struggle" coming your way. My husband Tom and I were eccstatic when you got your heart and Tom felt like you were his birthday present because it was on his birthday! He couldn't have asked for a better gift. I was so proud to be able to let "Teacher Mimi's" dancers know that Baby Mia was getting better and better. My daughter Makayla even took pictures of you to show and tell at her school. Dylan helped out at the Bake Sale and was pretty sure the cupcake with the blue sprinkles was for you! My whole family is is complete love with you little Miss. I can't wait to be your dance teacher (Mimi, I better get to!) and watch you grown more and more! Loves to your whole family,
Love

Congrats Mia on turning 1!!! I have been following your story on your Momma's blog for almost a year now. I have cried, and also celebrated, the good and bad times that you and your family have had to experience. I have offered many prayers to our Heavenly Father for a sweet little girl and her family whom I have never met. I can tell that you are a treasure and blessing to your friends and family. Have fun growing up and reaching many more milestones. Love, Jenny (a fellow LDS gal)

Happy 1st Birthday darling Mia! We have loved and been amazed watching your story from the beginning personally near by. We love your mom and dad and siblings and are so proud of them. Life with a sick baby is hard, we lost ours a month and a half after you were born. So to the angel baby who gave you a new chance at life, to that family, to yours and ours, we learn life is a miracle in many different ways and should be enjoyed and never taken for granted. We love you Mia girl and Jonathon loved making heart cookies with me for your strong mommy :) We hope you have many happy birthday's to come.
Love, The Tracy Family

Ms. Mia,
I came upon your story quite by accident, and since you and my daughter were the same age you really tugged at my heart strings and I couldn't stop thinking and worrying about you (what is it about us mothers? I guess someday too you will understand!)even though I live in a totally different state and have never met you or your family. Happy 1st Birthday Mia!

We love you so much! If you only knew how many people loved you and prayed for you in your little life! You are a special person! When I held you in the hospital you smiled when I sang and fell asleep. If it is possible for a baby to posess patience, you have it! You waited for your heart, you are endlessly patient with every set back and meet every challenge with your special smile. Happy first birthday!
